The Director of Finance is accountable for managing all functions involving administration and finances for the Departments of Surgery and Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery under the direction of the Unified Administrator. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the Department's operations, including financial management, clinical operations, clinical research and work in conjunction with research administration, establishing the vision and strategic direction. This role will be responsible for overall financial operations of the departments including business services, accounting, operational and capital financial planning, budgeting, financial reporting, and auditing functions. They will maintain oversight of the department's consolidated annual operating budget consisting clinical, research and teaching missions. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Collaborates with Health System leadership and colleagues for the development of clinical and financial management and program quality and safety initiatives. Implements planning, operating and accountability systems that ensure the continuing growth and success of the department. Works closely with physician leadership and other physician members to ensure alignment between the clinical and academic missions of the program. Demonstrates and promotes the values of the departments. Director of Finance will partner with the Unified Administrator, Director of Clinical and Business Affairs and Chairman to provide oversight of financial operations for the Departments of Surgery and Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery and support the ongoing integration of the department into a unified health system that utilizes best practices and scale efficiencies. Education/skills required:
Bachelor's degree required, ideally with an MBA/CPA or related degree. At least 7-10 years of overall professional experience, ideally 6
years of broad financial and operations management experience. High level fiscal, organizational development and administrative management skills specific to ambulatory, hospital, health care setting and/or a health care regulatory agency. Ability to develop and lead the execution of strategic plans Coding experience a plus Strong written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated skill building high performing teams. Demonstrated experience in project management. Strong performance management and interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel applications. The ideal candidate has experience of final responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data. Ability to translate financial concepts to - and to effectively collaborate with programmatic who do not necessarily have finance backgrounds. A track record in grants management. Technology savvy with experience selecting and overseeing software installations and managing relationships with software vendors. Skilled in data analysis and development of comprehensive reports.
Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
Minimum Qualification
Accounting, Corporate FinanceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
