Registered Nurse Supervisor 1
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Registered Nurse Supervisor 1 is needed to ensure appropriate coverage over the nursing department. The incumbent is responsible for all nursing activities in the entire geographic region of Metro NY DDSOO, which includes day program, infection control, technical assistance to voluntary-operated agencies within the region and liaison between the agency and community medical facilities. Which would allow for focused and cohesive planning and ensure the health and safety of all the individuals served by Metro NY DDSOO. The function performed is unique to the Registered Nurse Supervisor 1 position and assignment can providing clinical supervision and oversight to NA1, CMHN, Nurse 1 & 2, and LPN in the absence of the NPC. The incumbent will function as the assistant to the NPC and will function as the Acting NPC in the absence of NPC.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent will oversee and coordinate day to day operation and activities in the nursing department. They will be in charge of nursing services for a large number of individuals which involve direct or indirect supervision of professional and clinical staff. Responsibilities may include ensuring implementation of facility policies and procedures related to nursing; scheduling staff; directing staff; teaching appropriate nursing techniques; and reviewing individuals' records for compliance with agency practice/protocol and developing a plan for correcting any deficiencies found. The incumbent will perform the broad range of clinical and administrative activities as well as oversight, management, and coordination of nursing services. Supervises the maintenance of medical and other records and files pertinent to the treatment and care of service recipients and supervises the development of data from records and files for various evaluations or studies to determine the most effective way of delivering services and evaluating he success of the treatment. In addition, the incumbent provides oversight of Agency nursing contracts/scheduling, expenditures and ensuring the level of services provided by agency nursing is consistent with the standards and practices of Metro NY DDSOO.

Salary Range:
From $123298 to $133418 Annually
Minimum Qualification
One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in this title or in a title eligible for 70.1 transfer. Provisional
Qualifications:
You must be a qualified employee of New York State and have:
Possession of a license and current registration to practice nursing in New York State and two years of service in any Grade 18 or higher position that requires a license to practice nursing; or one year of service in any Grade 20 or higher position that requires a license to practice nursing. Must maintain a valid New York State license and registration. This position may be designated 55 b/c and is subject to verification of applicant eligibility.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
