Summary:
The Family Support Liaison is responsible for the assessment of family needs and the provision of a planned program of activities and services to meet those needs within the framework of the Community Schools expectations.
The Family Support Liaison will work to develop and promote good community relations among various community and school clientele.
This role requires you to assist parents/families in the development of positive ongoing school relationships with school staff in order to address and eliminate potential barriers to student school success.
Schedule:
Part-Time Monday Friday (Some evenings and weekends required) This role requires you to be in-person.
Pay:
$22-$26/hr Salary is commensurate with experience, skills, education, and merit.
Essential Job Functions:

Assesses family needs, provides resources, and education for families.

Foster a welcoming environment within the school that promotes mutual respect and comfortable rapport among families, school staff and community members
Lead families in opportunities to teach self-advocacy skills, leadership opportunities within the school and community.

Collaborate & partner with school Parent Coordinator to plan and provides parent workshops and events.

Work with school staff and families to provide/link families with needed support services
Work with school staff and families as necessary to facilitate increased school attendance
Coordinate and/or support student incentive programs for improved behavior, attendance and academic performance
Promote, encourage, facilitate and document opportunities for parent participation
Attend and participate in school improvement activities, district or related school activities as requested by Community School Director
Works closely with other staff and agencies who serve the social, educational and health needs of families.

Plans, develops and implements action plans and program goals that serve family needs.

Maintains a regular program of outreach and recruitment in the community.

Recruits and provides resources for families within the community.

Familiarity with or ability to learn computer equipment and programs which may include (but not limited to) word processing, and excel.

Maintains family records, family involvement information, and statistical information for state and federal regulations using system data entry and retrieval equipment, with software programs.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelors degree preferred or 2 years relevant experience working in a school environment.
High School diploma required.

Experience working with families from diverse backgrounds.

Ability to speak, read, and write in English language.

Excellent written and personal communication skills, including strong grammar and editing skills
Ability to work with students and families with diverse backgrounds and abilities.

Some training or experience in childhood education and development and social services preferred
Must meet all training requirement guidelines
Excellent organizational, presentation, time management, facilitation, mediation, and decision making skills.

Computer skills preferred- Excel, Word, Power Point, Google Docs, and other presentation documents

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
