Located in the Bronx, our client offers Supply Chain and Distribution Management services to food-service operators, restaurant groups, hospitals and educational professionals from Connecticut to Philadelphia. They currently operate a 90,000 sq. ft. facility with multiple levels of employees and a fleet of about 22 drivers, both LTL and FTL. There is a potential move to a larger facility in the near future. As they seek to optimize for growth in the coming years, they are looking to add an experienced Operations professional to the team that can successfully guide them down the correct path.
Appropriate candidates will have at least 5-10
years is a Sr. Management/Director role with a Distribution company. Our client is seeking someone with the intrinsic industry knowledge and experience that affords them the ability to observe, analyze and then reshape current company processes, structures and systems while also managing and pushing forward daily operations. This is a hands on position that requires the Director to be continually aware and on top of, first hand, the operations in the DC at all time. Among other things, responsibilities include:
Managing a team that includes: 5 managers, -20 Truck Drivers, and a warehouse staff ranging from 10-20
depending on the shift
Communication with company ownership and sr. management
Tracking, evaluating and streamlining workflow
Anticipate and address inventory needs
Foster teamwork by clearly identifying goals, objectives and accountability
Reshape teams and team members as necessary
Monitoring all facility operations
Ensure that operations fit with the overall strategy of the company, maximizing efficiency and minimizing risk
Facilitate long range strategic and tactical planning in support of all business
Develop, implement and administer updated distribution techniques and systems
Requirements:
Degree in Distribution, Logistics, Business, Engineering or related field, or the equivalent experience
Experience working with Truck-based Distribution
Experience working with a Supply Chain operation
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Excellent communication skills with all levels of employees/management
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
